Kimberly J. Evans, OTR\/L, CHT<\/strong>, is the owner of Evans Hand Therapy<\/strong>, an outpatient occupational therapy clinic specializing in upper-extremity rehabilitation, which she founded in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimberly has nearly 17 years of experience as a licensed occupational therapist, including 13 years specializing in hand therapy, and is a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). She has extensive experience mentoring therapists, supervising occupational therapy fieldwork students, and providing advanced clinical instruction in custom orthotic fabrication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her areas of expertise include custom splint design, post-surgical rehabilitation, and evidence-based interventions that promote functional recovery and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimberly is also a healthcare entrepreneur. She founded Axis Management Solutions<\/strong>, a management services organization supporting outpatient practices. After going through 13 receptionists in three years, she built her own solution: Axis Patient Solutions<\/strong>, an AI front desk that answers every call, schedules appointments, collects new patient information, and books initial evaluations. Her experience running a clinic from both the treatment table and the front desk shapes everything she teaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through Axis Splinting Solutions<\/strong>, Kimberly extends her passion for education with hands-on continuing education courses that help clinicians improve client outcomes through evidence-informed splinting techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many CEUs will I earn for completing the splinting course?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The course includes 8 hours of instruction, and a certificate of completion is awarded to participants who meet all course requirements. Continuing education credit details will be posted on the Upcoming Courses page once confirmed. Please check your state’s continuing education requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is eligible to take this course?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This course is designed for\u00a0licensed occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants<\/strong>, including certified hand therapists, who want to strengthen their splinting knowledge and hands-on fabrication skills. Licensed physical therapists are also welcome; please confirm with your licensing board whether the course meets your continuing education requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Do I need prior splinting experience?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

No prior splinting experience is required. The course is taught at an intermediate level and works best for practitioners with foundational knowledge of upper-extremity anatomy and conditions. Live demonstrations and guided, hands-on fabrication take you step by step through each orthosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What materials or tools will I need?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nothing.\u00a0All thermoplastic materials, strapping, heating equipment, and tools are provided<\/strong>\u00a0during the in-person course. Just bring yourself, comfortable clothing, and a willingness to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
